How "hot" you feel, or heat index, is a combination of both air temperature and relative humidity, measured in percentage. An air temperature of 30 C (or 86 F) standing next to an ocean will feel much cooler than the same air temperature in a thick, dense rainforest!
For example, this digital thermometer shows temperature (24.1 C) and relative humidity (44 %). Using these values, the "Feel Like" heat index can be calculated to be 25.4 C.
